Travel pillow, eye patch and ear plugs…
Switch off the senses. Sometimes the only moments you have to catch some rest while on tour, might be during travel (unless you are driving, then sorry, no rest for you). Even if you don’t fall asleep, giving the senses a break is almost like a mini recharge. Also, some travel pillows come with a soft bag, which you can hide some other heavy items in, such as ipads, in those times you are super tight on baggage allowance
Healthy snacks…
As opposed to eating a big bag of naughty chips or mountains of chocolate on long travels on the road, munch on some healthy green beans and pre-peeled carrots. These crunchy food items take up more time snacking on and are much more healthier for you too.
7-Eleven smart phone app…
With this app you can check for the cheapest fuel prices from 7-Elevens in surrounding area’s and lock that price in for 7 days. This can make a big difference to how much you end up spending on fuel for long tours. On long journeys, you have more locations to compare too, until you land on a price you like. I have seen differences of 40 cents a litre within half hour drives.
Travel Music…
Download or prepare albums and interviews of artists you want to learn more about. Some recent artists I have been listening to on my journeys include Marcus King, LP, The Allman Brothers, Nothing But Thieves, Lowell George, Lizzo and podcasts such as Time to Talk with Sean Sennett or vocal coaching videos.
